It is a great blessing for me to be assigned to my intern parish where I am now. It is a parish in a small town just like my little parish in Vietnam where I was born and grew up. I see a lot of similarities between the life of my intern parish and that of my parish in Vietnam. The people of God in this parish are very generous with their time and talents. Many people have made great contributions to the life of the parish.
In addition to my weekly schedule, in past three months, I had a chance to get involved in different activities in the parish. We had annual Kermes and Jesus Rally for the children in Faith Formation, garage sale, the celebration of the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Posadas and so on.
My active and lively intern parish has given many great opportunities to learn and grow. On one hand, I have had a wonderful chance to apply what I have been taught in the particular circumstance of my intern parish. On the other hand, I have learned many new, surprising, and precious lessons that I have not been taught in an academic setting.
The experience of my pastoral internship has strengthened my vocation to the call to follow Jesus Christ and to serve as a little worker in His vineyard. Blessings!
