Seminary Life

unnamed-7Hello, my name is Noe Mendiola. I am the baby of the seminarians at St. Charles Seminary.  I arrived a short two and a half months ago and I am the only first-year seminarian this year.  Don’t be fooled by the word baby. You see, unlike your average seminarian I am 45 years old, but in seminarian years I am the newbie.  All kidding aside this short journey has already taught me so much about the Lord and the Lord has taught me so much about me.  The daily Mass, prayers, and reflection help you center yourself to God as your anchor.  The adjusting to community life does take a little bit of time.  Meeting and getting to know your brothers helps you to settle in and know someone else is looking to serve God and his people like you are and find out that you are not alone.  My journey has just begun and I already look forward to each week to see what the Lord has planned for me, my heart searches for him and I find him in all things.  My goal this semester is to learn, absorb and set it into practice.  Learn about God, absorb him in the Eucharist daily and practice by showing Jesus face through my words and actions.  I plan to succeed in every goal.  With God all is possible.
